Lapland Aurora Borealis Wedding
Make your way to the site of your wedding by a sledge pulled by husky dogs, a sledge pulled by a reindeer or a snowmobile. You step out of your transport and look around and it is a most beautiful place, totally quiet. At 437m above the sea level at the top of the Kaunispaa fell. The magical lights of the the Aurora Borealis, light up the sky.
After the ceremony is over you see two reindeers and a local Sami man approaching you. The reindeers are carrying a bottle of sparkling wine and your marriage certificate for you. You open the bottle and just then the men start to sing for you in a local mysterious way called joiku.
Complete the wedding celebration with a genuine performance of Lappish songs called joiku. If desired the bridal couple can get married in colorful Lapp costumes.
For your wedding accommodation you have several options including a Honeymoon Snow Igloo, a Wedding Turf Chamber, Glass Igloo or the Queen Suite.
After the night in an Igloo it is time for a Sauna in the worlds largest smoke Sauna. Followed by a 3 course lunch in the snow restaurant, sitting at hand crafted ice tables inside a huge snow igloo. Then you could try ice swimming, not for the faint hearted, or have a lesson in ice carving.
The Northern Lights (Aurora borealis) are visible from late August to late April, with the best time to view the natural phenomenon is just before midnight.
